Where It’s At Entertainment NEXT LEVEL Emcee Competition [Review]

Vancouver, B.C –  B.C’s finest emcees gathered together last night at Fortune Sound Club for the Where It’s At Entertainment NEXT LEVEL Emcee Competition. The venue was completely packed full of eager hip-hop fans waiting to see who would win the prize worth $10,000  to be featured alongside an un-named rap superstar.

The contestants came from all over the province, some even as far as 20 hours by car to showcase their skills. The 20 acts were judged by a panel of hip-hop aficionados such as DJ Flipout, Justin Frew and Max Dishaw who used a 25 point scoring system based on stage presence, rhymes, flow, originality and X-factor. Cashius Clay held it down as the host and kept the fans entertained in between acts.

The fans were thoroughly entertained taking countless trips back and forth between the stage and the bar. Performer after performer hit the stage and kept the energy high all night. For a Thursday, Fortune Sound Club was bumpin’. After the final contestants had performed the judges looked at their score cards and realized they had a tie. AutoKrat and Northwest Division would hit the stage once again and perform one final song each to settle the score. In the end AutoKrat came out as the winner with a unanimous victory and the title of Where It’s At Entertainment NEXT LEVEL champion.

The $10,000 prize package included the recording, mixing and mastering of one song complete with a full production crew in a professional studio setting. Once completed, the talent will shine amongst a superstar rap verse on a custom built beat by local producers Max Dishaw and Justin Frew. The song will also be featured on a Where Its At Compilation Album that will include over 15 top heavy-hitters from Vancouver’s hip-hop scene, including Swollen Members, Prada West & more.

Congrats to AutoKrat on her win!
