Ain’t No Love – Blinded [Video]

Toronto, ON – On Mar. 3, T-Dot’s Ain’t No Love electro-hip-hop quartet launched some new visuals for their track “Blinded.” Vocalist Saidah Conrad starts things off with with her sultry chopped-up hook (“Blinded/ By the stars in my eyes”). Then rappers Roland “1990″ Broere and Elias “Beanz” McBean get in on their verses, while Conrad’s soulful hook laces itself between the rhymes. And this is all on top of some alt-rock production, courtesy of Liam Clarke (of Love Thy Brother).

Ain’t No Love was recently given a MuchFACT grant, and they were able to get this particular video funded. Which is dope. Shouts to MuchFACT for supporting our finest homegrown talent. These visuals give us a solid dose of stunning cinematography, courtesy of MMVA nominee, Luke Hansen Macdonald (for 235 Films). Check it out below.

This quartet is such a solid exemplification of where music is headed right now. It’s not about staying within the confines of one particular genre; it’s about taking your craft and honing it. Case in point: First, we’ve got Conrad. She’s the sass and soul of the quartet. Then we’ve got 1990. He’s got a signature aggressive flow, with hard-hitting lyricism. Beanz brings it home with his hungry-fast flow, and cheeky performance antics. And Liam brings his own flavour of ear-worm hard-rock production to the table. Four very different artists joining forces to make their own brand of tuneage. So fresh.

Since their music video for the HypeMachine-topping single “Fake Your Dreams” hit heavy rotation on MuchMusic and MuchVibe, Ain’t No Love has stayed busy in the studio and on the road. They showcased at Evolve Festival, Quebec City Summer Festival, Montreal’s OUMF with Lunice & Tommy Kruise, and last week returned from a main stage show at Ottawa’s Winterlude. This month they will be playing official showcases at SXSW for their third year in a row. So if you’re at SXSW, make sure you keep your eyes out for them.
