Huge Ticket: Maestro Fresh Wes & comedian Trixx host #BigTicket on Apr. 11 [News]
Toronto, ON – It’s that time again; the HipHopCanada-sponsored #BigTicket event – brought to you by our friends over at EasParkPro – is going down at Toronto’s Wrong Bar (1279 Queen St. W) on Apr. 11. But this month’s #BigTicket is actually more of a Huge Ticket. Because Maestro Fresh Wes and Comedian Trixx are hosting. And the line-up is stacked. And D.O. is releasing his Down Home project.
So first off, we’ve got – obviously – D.O. (aka: Defy The Odds) from Art Of Fresh rolling through with the release of his second solo project (which was entirely produced by Classified). Down Home includes features from some of our favourites cats (including host Maestro, Chad Hatcher, Spesh K, J-Bru and Jake Boyd). We’ve also got rapper-producer-Jack of all tracks, iLLVibe, on the roster for the night, along with Tommy Spitz, Osiym, and Iron Wind. Doors open at 10 p.m. Cover is $10. About D.O. (aka Defy The Odds)
He’s an International artist, successful record label executive and a socially active community ambassador. D.O., aka Defy The Odds, set a Guinness World Record when he free styled for nearly nine hours in 2003. He has sold tens of thousands of CDs, hit #1 on U.S. College Hip Hop Radio charts and traveled the world performing for sold out crowds; D.O.’s success is defined in his own terms.
One half of the group Art Of Fresh, D.O. is releasing his second solo project “Down Home” a 10-song album produced entirely by Classified. The albums first single Capture The Moonlight features Saukartes and Slaughter Houses Joell Ortiz. The album also features appearances by Maestro, Chad Hatcher, Spesh K, J-Bru and Jake Boyd. April 11th D.O. will be celebrating the release of Down Home with a special performance at #BigTicket.
One of the hardest working guys in the biz, iLLVibe started writing music and performing in 1999 and hasn’t stopped grinding. M.C., producer, video director and promoter, iLLVibe has a long list of his venture and accomplishments. He recently released his 10th studio album Proof Of Life. Peep his self directed and edited Death To Swag and Bxng Bxng. The first 2 videos singles from Proof Of Life. iLLVibe states, “I’m going to blow the doors off #BigTicket and do something never done before.” See him live April 11th.
