Tomorrow: Iron Mic Music Festival at the Edmonton Expo Centre [News]

Edmonton, AB – Tomorrow is the day, people. It’s finally time for Iron Mic Music Festival to kick things into high-gear for Western Canadian hip-hop heads. Our good friends over at Pearl Entertainment are pleased to present – not one, not two, not three, not four, but – five monster headliners: MGK, Ghostface Killah, Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$, and Smoke DZA.

The festival also includes a local showcase component with performances from E-Town’s own Mitchell Lawler, Chubby C & Domino, Blackson Gutta, Evrlove, and Dizzy. [Editor’s side note: remember how I’ve been raving about Evrlove Blake’s Triangles, Circles & Squares mixtape? Yeah. That’s happening. Live.]

And what’s even more exciting? HipHopCanada’s Prairie hip-hop honeys – Rosa and Sarah – will be onsite all throughout the day to bring you coverage of the show. So keep it locked. And if you’ve somehow managed to sleep on getting your tickets, you can still cop them via Ticketmaster (online and at all Ticketmaster vendors), as well as at Foosh (10544 – 82 Ave NW), Quantum Leaf (11727 Jasper Ave), FS (located inside of West Edmonton Mall), and ROZ Urban Wear (located inside of Londonderry Mall) in Edmonton.

About Iron Mic Music Festival

Iron Mic is the first of its kind for Western Canada – it’s an indoor multi-headliner hip-hop festival offered to all ages. The festival is three parts in nature: it features headlining performances from internationally recognized artists. It provides an opportunity for local artists to gain some exposure. And it gives back to the community through charitable efforts. Iron Mic Music Festival was made possible through Pearl Entertainment’s partnerships with Nightshift, Mez Muzik, Dubsac, Jakmove, Diamond Kings Entertainemnt, IPartySask, and HipHopCanada.

Pearl Entertainment co-founders Dima Perelman and Miyuru Fernando always intended to start up a hip-hop festival for the often underrepresented Western Canadian hip-hop fans. Most larger-scale events in Alberta cater to the EDM and dance music market. But the growth of the hip-hop community in the last few years made it evident that the hip-hop fans needed a festival to call their own. Iron Mic Music Fest fills that niche by bringing the best global and local artists together under one roof for a day of headlining musical performances, charitable efforts, and celebration of Canada’s growing hip-hop scene.
