Halfcut – From Dungeons To Rooftops [Album]

Calgary, AB – On May 22, one of my favourite Calgary rap cats – Halfcut – launched his third release entitled From Dungeons To Rooftops. This album compiles a bunch of HC’s older unreleased material from the last few years, and throws it together on to one 17-track-long project.

If you’re not familiar with Halfcut, he embodies everything I love about the raw sounds of the underground. His flow is immaculate. And he has a knack for working with some of the illest throwback-influenced production ever. This album includes collaborations with the likes of A.Y.E., Myriad, The Block Parents, and more. Also of supreme importance, to note: Halfcut is one half of the Humble Giants duo (alongside Beni J). And the Humble Giants are also gearing up for a project release. It’s about time, though, right? So keep your ear to the ground on that. In the meanwhile, cop a listen to From Dungeons To Rooftops below, and head over to Bandcamp for a free download.

Very dope album. A friend posted the link in my Facebook hip hop room a few days back and I’ve been bumping’ it daily. I say this being a hip hop fan since the Sugarhill Gang! Props to halfcut and all the peeps on it.

[…] can definitely see HG’s progression with this new material. Especially Beni J. Halfcut released that mixtape a minute ago. So we’ve seen his flow get tighter and we’ve seen him settle into that […]
