LordQuest breaks down production on ScHoolboy Q’s “Blind Threats” [Video]

Toronto, ON – Remember how ScHoolboy Q dropped Oxymoron and the Internet exploded over it all? Remember that dope Raekwon-assisted “Blind Threats” joint off the project that sampled Gary Burton’s “Las Vegas Tango”? Well, Toronto-based producer, LordQuest, is the man behind that joint’s beat. He’d previously collaborated with Q on “Figg Get Da Money” off the Setbacks mixtape that was released in 2011. So it only made sense for the two of them to get back at it for Oxymoron.

LordQuest recently sat down with his fellow Toronto producer, Junia-T, to chop it up about the beat on “Blind Threats,” and to discuss how it all came together as ScHoolboy’s favourite track off the album. “I thought he only did that hard gangsta stuff, but it was bigger than that,” says LordQuest. “His music has a lot of depth and texture, but a lot of people don’t see it as that. He has feelings and emotions, he has problems, and he has issues just like everyone else.” Check it all out after the jump. And spoiler alert: LQ is working on his debut EP which is slated for release this summer. Get ready for it, people!
