50 Cent talks Power, Animal Ambition, Tatted Up Holly, a G-Unit reunion & more [Video]
Hartford, CT – HipHopCanada affiliates Radio.com dropped off a new interview with 50 Cent and Hot 93.7 (a station of theirs out of Hartford):
In a wide-ranging interview with DJ Jenny Boom Boom from Hartford’s HOT 93.7 (a Radio.com station), 50 Cent opened up on a variety of subjects, including why he’s just not so excited to talk about how much money he’s accrued over his illustrious and controversial career.
“I think that the thing that gets in the way of my core audience, like my original fans, is the success itself. They go, ‘ah, he’s rich, he can’t rap like that.’ See, that’s funny because the guys that are rapping like they rich don’t have it,” 50 Cent said. “So the guys who don’t have the money are rapping like they have the money, but they’ve exhausted it so much that it’s not exciting for me to write it. It’s just because they’re inspired to have it. Meanwhile, when you actually make it, you look back at how far you’ve come. You’ll have an interest in writing things that you missed writing on that first project.”
The “Chase the Paper” rapper was candid when asked about his relationship with model Tatted Up Holly (who he calls “my girlfriend, that’s my friend, a homey”), espousing surprisingly conservative values when it comes to love and romance.

A STARZ Original Series
From Executive Producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and show creator Courtney Kemp Agboh (“The Good Wife”) comes Power, a visionary crime drama set in two different worlds – the glamorous New York club scene and the brutal drug trade.
James “Ghost” St. Patrick has it all: a beautiful wife, a gorgeous Manhattan penthouse, and the hottest, up-and-coming new nightclub in New York. His club, Truth, caters to the elite: the famous and infamous boldface names that run the city that never sleeps. As its success grows, so do Ghost’s plans to build an empire. However, Truth hides an ugly reality. It’s a front for Ghost’s criminal underworld; a lucrative drug network, serving only the wealthy and powerful.
As Ghost is seduced by the prospect of a legitimate life, everything precious to him becomes unknowingly threatened. Once you’re in, can you ever get out?
