Former HipHopCanada writer releases book, Thoughts of a Fractured Soul [News]
Toronto, ON – Since it’s launch almost 15 years ago, HipHopCanada has relied heavily on the contributions of volunteers and a handful of those have gone on to become very successful members of the Canadian scene. They’re often talented writers like our Toronto-based associate, Kern Carter. Carter is the author of a great new book entitled Thoughts of a Fractured Soul.
“Thoughts of a Fractured Soul tells a story of family and failed potential told through the reflective voice of the main character, Corey Thomas a.k.a Ace. Through a series of non-linear digressions, some brief and some extended, Corey catalogues the crucial moments of his life as he remembers. As these insights are pieced together, you are presented with a tale that digs deep into societal behaviours and reflects the contemporary structure of the modern family.”
As Carter has been a HUGE supporter of Canadian hip-hop, we wanted to make sure we let you know about the availability of the book and how you can support with an online purchase. Thoughts of a Fractured Soul is available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Chapters/Indigo and via the publisher, Friesenpress.
We also want you to know about the book’s launch party taking place in Toronto on Saturday, July 12, inside Artscape (180 Shaw St. near Queen/Ossington). Come celebrate the release with Carter between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. (with books available for purchase on site).
