Mike Boyd’s Number 1’s: Calvin Harris – Summer ft. Mike Boyd [Audio]

Enfield, NS – Remember how Mike Boyd recently launched his new weekly series called Mike Boyd’s Number 1’s? Well Mike just hit us with the latest instillation. So we’re bringing it to you. Each week, Mike records a verse to a #1 single; regardless of whether he loves it or hates it. These verses lead up to the premiere of Mike’s forthcoming single release, “1 Hit Wonder.”

For this joint, Mike throws some bars over top of Calvin Harris’ summer anthem; so appropriately entitled “Summer.” Check out Mike’s verse below, and head over to Mixcloud to peep the rest of the series.

Mike Boyd's Number 1's: Calvin Harris - Summer ft. Mike Boyd [Audio] -

There’s some definite summer loving going down as Mike begins with some Grease bars: “You were Sandy/ And I was Danny/ Olivia Newton/ John Travolta/ Summer loving.” And then he gets into all of the other summer delights we’ve grown to love: being day-drunk in public, eating steak, post-campfire sex, and all that other summery goodness.

Then Mike hits us with the best line ever: “We run this beach” (like “run this bitch,” but with a “beach” – in case you didn’t catch that). Giggle. Snort. Keep it locked on the rest of the series. And if you haven’t done so yet, you should probably cop a download of Mike’s …Note The Sarcasm LP (released via Halflife Records Inc./Universal Music Canada). You can get a copy of it over here.
