Future’s Honest Tour rolls through Vancouver’s Vogue Theatre [Photos]
Vancouver, BC – Vancity recently had the opportunity to catch Freebandz rapper Future on his Canadian leg of the Honest Tour presented by Timbre Concerts. With super producer/emcee Rico Love in the cut, Future packed in an all ages crowd to celebrated Independence Day with his North Western fans.
Local acts Terell Safadi and HeatWave with Seattle cat iLL Chris made moves on stage getting the place fully turnt up for the main event. These boys know how to work a stage and were the perfect pairing for Future’s July 4th celebration.
An American flag draped across DJ Esco’s table with some intense stage lighting set the stage for Future, who opened the show with “Karate Chop”. Although most of his set was filled with the best of Honest like “I Won” and “Honest” he still pulled out bangers like “Same Damn Time” that got the whole crowd jumping up and down, screaming every lyric.
The turn up was real as they say and this crowd was clearly in the building to make the most of their Saturday night. These were true Future fans and by the time “Move That Dope” made it’s mark on the crowd, just about every fan in the building was reciting the hook.
Slightly dissappointing to see an artist of his calibar rapping over his own vocals but there were few people who even noticed or cared. Overall the room was filled with ecstatic d-boys and under agers who by the looks of it, got their money’s worth and even though it wasn’t our holiday, July 4th was celebrated in proper form. God bless America.
