Outkast headlines Osheaga in Montreal this weekend [News]
Montreal, QC – This weekend the Osheaga Music Festival begins with three days of performances. The main event – Outkast – closes the first night this Friday.
This is the sixth year Osheaga weekend turns Montreal’s ‘Nun’s Island’ into a blur of an expected 40,000 people. The festival’s three nights have the likes of Pusha T, Childish Gambino, J. Cole, Danny Brown, Kaytranada, Joey Bada$$, and Travi$ Scott hitting the stage amongst a mix of this year’s independent and mainstream-favoured performers. Check out more details and the full festival line-up after the jump.
Last year’s line-up included Kendrick Lamar, Azealia Banks, and Angle Haze, as well as this years questionable winner of the Grammy for best rap album: Macklemore. Osheaga has always included hip-hop acts in the line-up which is a lot more than most Montreal music festivals can say. Pollster ranks the festival #1 in Canada and #11 in the world. The festival has hosted 600 performances and 400,000 attendees. There certainly is nothing like it in Montreal – and possibly in Canada.
Osheaga jumps off this Friday Aug. 1 to Sunday Aug. 3. General admission for the three days is sold out, but Gold Passes are still available. The general admission single day tickets are $95. Not bad, considering the lineup scheduled to hit the six stages for the three days.
