Brothers Grim Presents: Sweatshop Union live in Edmonton [News]
Edmonton, AB – Brothers Grim and Raised Fist Productions have teamed up to bring Sweatshop Union out for a live show at The Studio Music Foundation (10940-166 A Street). The Vancouver hip-hop heavyweights will be making their stop in YEG on August 29, as a kick-off party for Valleyview’s annual music festival, Beaverfest. For those of you unable to make the festival (or just want a double-dose of Sweatshop), this is your prime opportunity to come down and get live!
This Canadian hip-hop collective is most known for their socially conscious views and eclectic sound. They’ve received many accolades for their work, including a 2011 Western Canadian Music Award for Hip-Hop Album of the Year (Bill Murray EP). Sweatshop Union’s most recent project to date is their fifth LP, Infinite (released in summer 2013). I’m sure we can look forward to a taste of their new material, along with the rest of their outstanding discography.
Sweatshop Union will be joined with local support from; Kancer & Black Lung, Cashew, The Nasty Boys, Koncept Tha Truth, Brothers Grim, and Double.A. Tickets are on sale now for $20 in advance and $25 at the door. You can also grip them online (with service fees included) on Zoobis. For more information on vendors, keep it locked on the event’s Facebook page. See you there!
