Shariq Devonte – Cosmic Energy [Video]

Toronto, ON – Higher Learning Culture’s own Shariq DeVonte just dropped new visuals for his smoked-out viber entitled “Cosmic Energy.” This track comes to us off Shariq’s 2012 mixtape release, The Psychiatric Minds. And we’re debuting the new video for you, here on HipHopCanada.

The cosmic energy is very real, people. Trust. Shariq delivers performance footage from the Higher Learning Culture launch party (which was held in Ottawa at Ritual Nightclub back in April), along with shots-upon-shots of dreamy herb smoke. We also catch footage of Shariq’s fellow HLC kin. I see y’all doing your thing, there!

And then the track wraps up with a breakdown of supremacy; a breakdown that lasts over a minute. The beat gets a little more esoteric with some sampled vocals. And then the video cuts to all of these shots of toking and smoking. And the smoke is floating around and looking all cosmic, and stuff. And it feels like it’s all deeper than existence and life, itself. And by the time the beat’s keys fade out and the track finishes, you’re floating along in your own little Shariq-induced cosmic universe. The track was produced by Jazz Liberatorz and the video was directed and shot by Mike Rhodes. Check it after the jump, and head over to SoundCloud to cop a download of the track.
