TripSixx – Built Like That (Prod. Tay Lewis) [Audio]

Toronto, ON – T-Dot’s own TripSixx just teamed up with SmashMouth Music Group producer, Tay Lewis, to deliver a new single titled “Built Like That.” This track comes to us off Trip’s forthcoming Trip Set (slated for release later on this year).

Tay delivers a floaty summer beat with a key hook in the minor key. So it’s breezy; but it’s also got that eerie unsettling edge to it. And then Trip devours. He calls out his fellow rap cats for not being “built like that.” And he’s got this whole Future-influenced thing going on. This track totally could have been on the Honest album. And people would have been none the wiser that it was actually an up-and-coming rap cat from the North.

Obviously the best line in the entire song is when Trip is all like, “I’m on the phone/ Politics as usual/ Metamucil/ I be shittin’ on them/ Regular.” Because Metamucil makes you poop. And it keeps you regular. Props to Trip for that line; and for advocating for adequate fibre consumption. Check it at 1:56. And while you’re at it, listen to the entire track below.
