T.Y. – Sucker For Love [Video]

Hamilton, ON – As you may know, T.Y. is gearing up to launch a new album. We recently ran a weekly #TYTuesday series to debut new tuneage and remixes by the Hamilton MC. Now that #TYTuesday has come to an end, T.Y. hit us with the first video and lead single release off the album: “Sucker For Love.”

The track was produced by Chef Byer. Y’all may remember that Chef produced OB O’Brien’s “Steve Nash.” Anyways, he was really feeling T.Y. and decided to executive produce the entire forthcoming project release. Chef Byer makes the gnarliest beats. This particular track has that kick-back vibe-out feel; it’s a definite summer jam. And T.Y. gets personal on us as he delivers a commentary on his love life, and his love of the love life. Dude’s a total sucker for love. The video was directed by Steph Verschuren of Visual Disco. Check it after the jump.

So let’s get into the video, here. This is the most intense three-on-three ball game I’ve seen. T.Y. and his posse come rolling through. T.Y. is sporting a pair of fluffy beer slippers and chugging on a bottle of Listerine like a champ. They stand no chance at defeating their opponents. But with a little teamwork, and the help of some sketch backflipping dude, T.Y. and his team win the match. They all wind down with ice cream and high-fives. Because that’s how they roll.

So what’s the lesson we learn from this video? We learn that you can defy the odds and win at life (or ball games) if you persevere. You may find you need to enlist the help of back-flipping dudes who lurk around the basketball courts. And you may find that your path to success is not what you expected. But if you want it, you’ll get it. Bam! That’s deep.
