Allan Rayman – Beverly [Video]
Toronto, ON – Toronto’s own Allan Rayman just hit us with his latest video single titled “Beverly” off his forthcoming Hotel Allan LP.
Allan just got on board with the SmashMouth Music Group fam and we’re super stoked to see what they have in-store for us. SmashMouth’s kingpin director, Brenden Hewko, has a knack for sussing out some of the most talented artists around. If he’s digging Allan, I trust that I’ll probably be digging Allan, as well. This video was directed by Steph Verschuren. Check it after the jump.
“Beverly” showcases a really unique style of production that I’m hoping becomes Allan’s M.O. He delivers a funked-up beat with solid replay value. It’s a serious sad song about extreme love. But for some reason, I just want to get my dance on. All dancey feelings aside, though – this joint explores obsession. Allan familiarizes us with a very extreme and unstable ex-lover (aka: Beverly).
Allan and his new bae (who is not “Beverly” – for the record) are kicking it at the Idlewood Inn. New bae is drinking from the bottle, and dancing, and – oh damn – she’s totally unbuttoning her pants, too. Anyways, Allan and new bae end up frisking.
But then the video shows Beverly all by herself. She’s also at the Idlewood Inn. And she’s a bit nutso. She’s staring at a gun. And then she dolls herself up, puts on a mask, and heads into Allan’s room with the gun. We don’t see the ending of it all. But I’m assuming it’s along the lines of “Bang! Bang!”
