BeneFEST for Tibet with performances by k-os, Matt Brevner & more [News]
Vancouver, BC – Organizers of the upcoming festival, cleverly named BeneFEST For Tibet, have made their motive obvious in their titled. October 23 the BeneFEST will take place at Thunderbird Stadium and is set to feature an eclectic mix of Vancouver’s finest in hopes of raising the funds for Tibetan refugees. If that doesn’t make your heart feel super warm, maybe the list of talent lined up will.
Not only will hip-hop artists like k-os and Matt Brevner be present at UBC’s Thunderbird Stadium alongside acts like Louise Burns Music, The Funk Hunters and Delhi 2 Dublin but the show will take place after the great Dalai Lama speaks.
Ya. F’real. The Dalai Lama.
One hundred percent of the event proceeds will go to supporting the Vancouver chapter of the Tibetan Resettlement Project, a humanitarian initiative by His Holiness the Dalai Lama to resettle 1000 displaced Tibetans to Canada. The project reaches out to Tibetans living in the most impoverished refugee camps of Arunachal Pradesh, a region of northern India that borders Tibet.
So show up because, these are a few of Vancity’s most talented and it’s for a good cause. And…the Dalai Lama. Cop tickets at the link here.
