Kayo – With You (Prod. Stwo) [Audio]

Halifax, NSKayo has been on a bit of a Stwo kick, lately. The Halifax MC just hit us with a remix of “With You” (off of Stwo’s instrumental EP titled 92). It’s a smooth beat that brings up all of the feels. So many feels.

This isn’t the first time Kayo’s gotten in on a Stwo beat, by the way. He celebrated his birthday last month by launching a remix of the Stwo and Lido collaboration titled “Lost.” One month later (Oct. 6), he’s back on his grind. And this hits hard.

The track plays out like a confessional. Kayo gets anecdotal on us. And it works. This was a song for the fans. And it gets deeply personal – fans dig that: “Stations and promoters would ignore me/ But it’s a small town/ So I know you know your girlfriend adores me.”

Kayo also takes a hard and serious look at his ambitions within the rap game, and questions the sheep mentality of his peers: “Try to draw a picture/ Why these n*ggas try and trace it?” You feel that? He just called out a bunch of cats for sounding the same. And through it all, Kayo stays with you. I feel like I just had a really deep heart-to-heart with the dude. Now I know what he’s about. And I know he can slaughter on the Stwo production any day.
