The Untouchables – Live Your Life [Audio]

Edmonton, AB – Let’s face it – socially consciousness rap is rare in 2014. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that it’s dead, it just isn’t as powerful as it once was in the Golden Era.

However, when I listened to “Live Your Life” by The Untouchables, I was reassured that there are still MC’s out here that care more about sending a positive message and less about “the turn up”. Take a listen for yourself after the jump.

This record is all about a cause; whether it’s awareness about drugs, violence, or the economic struggles that we can all relate too. The delivery from this Edmonton-based trio is clean, polished and complimented by a smooth-melodic beat (the producer is unknown, but the track was recorded and mixed by group member, Basix).

And it’s all topped off with a memorable hook: “Live your life son / Son live your life / And only do it if you’re thinkin’ it’s right / Embrace the light / Live your life son / Son live your life / It’s colder than the night / But you ain’t gotta grip the knife”. Woosah.
