Franky $horts – ATM (Prod. Wonya Love) [Audio]

Calgary, AB – Calgary’s young up-and-comer, Franky $horts, just released his latest single titled “ATM” (produced by Wonya Love) off a forthcoming project that Franky is cooking up for us.

Contrary to everything you know in life, the “ATM” in the song’s title does not actually refer to an automated teller machine. It’s an abbreviation for “All that matters.” And that’s all that matters. Franky uses this joint to spotlight his monster flow while laying out his priorities in life: “They don’t know who I am/ But I know who I am/ And that’s all that matters.”

Also, shout-out to Wonya Love on the production. I just lurked Wonya’s Twitter and discovered that Wonya is only 17-years-old. That’s mad impressive. Check the track below.

This is actually such a thoughtful approach to being a confident rap cat. Instead of opening lyrical fire on us on how great he thinks he is, Franky speaks to the importance of knowing his identity. He knows who he is, so it doesn’t really matter what people think of him.

Too often, MCs get caught up on trying to become what they think the rap games wants them to be. Franky speaks to that: “Every chunk of coal wants to be a diamond.” But I get the sense that the dude doesn’t really care what his rap game mineral-equivalent is, because he’s just happy being Franky. And that’s your pep talk for the day, people!
