Stankowski – Jump ft. Mitchell Lawler [Audio]

Calgary, AB – Up-and-coming Calgary MC Stankowski recently teamed up with up-and-coming Edmonton MC Mitchell Lawler to bring us this new single released titled “Jump.”

This song is the young fresh-faced Alberta rap cat version of “Jump Around” by House of Pain. I mean, so many cats are all about getting turned up, or whatever. But Stankowski and Lawler just want us to jump. More specifically, they want us to, “Jump/ Jump/ Get ’em in the air/ Jump/ Jump/ Like you really don’t care.” And they lace the hook with this “Na na na na na na na na” thing that’s totally reminiscent of Chance The Rapper. Anyways, check the song out below.

Stankowski takes on the first verse with some fun lighthearted rhymes. He makes fun of the difficult pronunciation of his rap name, and then compares his craft to dishwashing detergent: “My raps fresh and clean/ Like Cascade.”

Then Mitchell Lawler comes in on the second verse and gives us a bit of flex. He calls the cypher his “crime scene” and gives us a condensed resume of his time in the rap game: “What they’ve done in their careers/ I’ve done by 19.”

I always love when MCs on the come-up link up together to make ish happen. Way to stay building, guys!
