Demrick talks his roots, inspirations and Losing Focus

Vancouver, BC – Philly to Cali transplant Demrick has been steadily on his grind for close to a decade and is currently on the heels of his upcoming album release Losing Focus.

With numerous projects already under his belt and co-signs from the likes of Kurupt, B-Real and Xzibit, HipHopCanada jumped at the opportunity to chop things up with Demrick before his recent Vancouver tour stop with Madchild. He sits down with our West Coast team to chop it up about his roots, inspirations and the new album. Check the full video interview after the jump.

Demrick talks his roots, inspirations and Losing Focus (Video) [Interview] -

Demrick had been going non-stop since his flight landed in Vancouver that afternoon, and even after getting stuck in that evil snail-paced traffic at the Lionsgate Bridge, when he made it into the venue, he kept it 100. As soon as he walked in his entertainment game was on and he kept it enthusiastic, energetic and real with us when we got to sit down with him.

We were given a special sneak preview of his new album Losing Focus and at first listen, it exceeded expectations. The beats on their own are to be admired, mixed with the catchy and controlled flow of Demrick’s voice make it a great choice for new music to start the new year with. A consistent listen from front to back without the need to skip a single track.

Hear more about Losing Focus in the interview below.

Kassandra has her hands in several cookie jars. Born in Ontario but raised on the West coast, she is currently located in the wonderfully diverse East side of Vancouver. With a passion for all things creative KassKills is a hair stylist by day and HipHopCanada's West Coast Regional Editor by night. Music and public relations are her true passions and although she didn't inherit the talent of her musician father she makes her mark on the industry through other avenues. By night you can catch KassKills at almost every Vancity hip-hop show, shaking hands and snapping photos while covering and supporting the local music scene. On top of that she works closely with one of the cities most reputable concert promotors, Timbre Concerts. Kass is a hustler by nature and works hard to play a key role Vancity's hip-hop scene. Over the years she has seen, photographed and interviewed many of hip-hop's top artists such as T.I, Raekwon, Sheek Louch, Noreaga, Black Milk, Waka Flocka, Ab-Soul & Dizaster.
