King Louie pays homage to Canada in new song; signing to OVO? [News]
Chicago, IL – Earlier today, Chicago’s own King Louie released a new song paying homage to Canada – the DJ L-produced “In Love Wit Canada.” Click here to listen.
The song is a nice tribute from an artist that has recently performed here several times, but it also fuels speculation that Louie is the latest OVO Sound signee. He now has the OVO hashtag on his Twitter profile and he’s got at least two OVO related tattoos including the OVO owl and the 6IX God tat similar to Drizzy’s. King L is also listed as an OVO Sound artist on the imprint’s Wikipedia page, although not the greatest source to rely on. But throw in this new release and there’s even more reason to expect that he’s the latest artist to join the roster.
Another way to look at it is the 6-pointed star is a symbol commonly associated with Chicago’s GDN (Gangsta Disciple Nation) – a gang that Louie has claimed allegiance too on numerous records. Although that doesn’t explain the OVO tat… or perhaps it just conveniently allows him to rep both.
