ScienZe – The Proof (Prod. EOM) [Video]

Brooklyn, NY – Brooklyn rapper ScienZe just released some of the most beautiful visuals that ever happened for his track “The Proof” off of his #BringBackElla EP (which you can and SHOULD download over here).

“The Proof” is a love song. Actually, most of ScienZe’s songs are love songs. The video brings us into a long-awaited reunion between ScienZe and his boo. It’s autumn and the trees have all changed colour. This is probably a metaphor for something deep and ScienZe-y – like a commentary on how love is like the trees because it stays rooted in place despite its changing colours. That, or the video just got shot during the autumn season. I prefer my metaphor theory, though.

ScienZe raps about love in the most genuine and vulnerable sense. Most rap cats are out there doing everything they can to activate some pussy, while ScienZe is probably standing there and laughing at y’all. He knows what women really want: “You’re the proof girl.” The video was directed by Genmotion, and the track was produced by EOM. Check it after the jump.

ScienZe and his girl pull up across the road from one another. He opens her car door for her – obviously – because he’s ScienZe and he bodies chivalry like that. His suit game is seriously on-point. ScienZe and his girl embrace, and all of the feelings happen. They drive off to the beach and share drinks as they watch the waves roll. Then they slow dance. And I’m reduced to a puddle of mushy emotions.

For those of you who aren’t familiar, Scienze is easily ranked as one of my Top 10 favourite artists on the come-up. I got into his music back in 2013 when he was releasing music with producer King I Divine as the Divine ScienZe duo. It was wavy, feel-good rap that dipped into consciousness, love, and every other fuzzy feeling. They dropped this collaboration track titled “Happiness Is” with Blu, Britain Parker, and Sene. It is one of my all-time favourite songs. When people ask me to refer them to a criminally underrated rap song, I send them “Happiness Is.”

Also. Unrelated side note: In case you were curious about his the stage name – Science is the study of life, while ScienZe is the study of hip-hop. That’s deep. Like the ocean.
