Win tickets to see Souls of Mischief in Calgary on Feb. 11 [Contest]

Calgary, AB – In case you missed the memo, Souls of Mischief are coming through on a Western Canadian tour with Aileron that kicks off in Calgary, AB on Feb. 11 and finishes in Kamloops, BC on Feb. 14.

One of the most important crews from the ’90s, SOM dropped their sixth studio album over the summer, entitled There Is Only Now. The extensive 19-track album features appearances from the likes of Busta Rhymes, William Hart, and Snoop Dogg, as well as a narrative courtesy of Ali Shaheed Muhammad (from A Tribe Called Quest). Just as SOM have always managed to push the boundaries of rap (since day one with with their monstrous 93 ’til Infinity body of work), they stepped up the rap game once again with experimental concepts, smooth audio, and crisply clean Adrian Younge production.

So since y’all Calgary cats are getting ready for next week’s kick-off show, we’re giving away a pair of tickets to the show at Commonwealth. Peep contest entry details after the jump. And head on over here to cop your tickets online.

About: Souls of Mischief

Oakland, California group Souls of Mischief has remained popular for a 20-year run and counting. The group made their major-label debut on Jive Records with their album, 93 ‘til Infinity, in 1993 and formed the hip-hop collective Hieroglyphics (Del the Funkee Homosapien, A-Plus, Tajai, Opio, Phesto Dee, Domino, Casual, Pep Love and DJ Toure). From J-Cole to Big K.R.I.T. and from Vampire Weekend to P-Diddy, other producers and artists have paid their homage by sampling the group’s music or interpolating it into their own sound. There Is Only Now is Souls of Mischief’s sixth studio album.
