Deuce Fantastick – My Fantastick Reality [Review]

Edmonton, AB – You can’t argue that Deuce Fantastick (Peep Game) has been one of the most notable voices in the Edmonton scene. The talented lyricist continues to carry that title in his sophomore album My Fantastick Reality. Released last fall, the album is a compilation filled raw emotion, substance, and production that knocks.

Deuce Fantastick is a storyteller and has a way of bringing the listener in; you can close your eyes and the words come to life. Whether it’s socially conscious (“Black Panthers”) or leaving his mark in the world (“Immortal”), he brings it forth with conviction and purpose.

Songs like “Love Hate,” an ode to his love-hate relationship with the industry and “Live & Love,” a chorus for everyone who just wants to embrace here and now, make My Fantastick Reality relatable. Midway through the album, Deuce switches up to a more fun and lighthearted vibe with “Stoopid Swag” and “Matrix” (for all you hype-beats and club heads). The project is then wrapped up with a gorgeous outro sampled over Deadmau5’s “Raise Your Weapon.” Vibes on, on vibes.

The community has shown the love and respect that is due for Deuce; the artists, writers, and producers featured on this project are abundant and I highly recommend you take note of the talent that’s driving Canadian hip-hop. My Fantastick Reality is available on iTunes and you can check-in with Deuce on his website.
