GoFundMe campaign created for HipHopCanada contributor Zack Noureddine’s memorial

Ottawa, ON – Our friend Zack Noureddine passed away before the turn of the year, but 2016 is now about keeping his memory alive and supporting his family as best we can. One initiative already underway is a GoFundMe campaign created by Zack’s friend Peter Coultas. The link is: https://www.gofundme.com/zacknoureddinefund.

Tomorrow afternoon, members of our Ottawa team will be attending Zack’s funeral to pay our respects along with several other members of the Ottawa (and Toronto) hip-hop scene. It will take place at 12:30 p.m. inside the Maison Funeraire Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home (180 Montreal Road, Ottawa, ON K1L 1B4). Zack’s brother has asked that this information be shared with anyone interested in joining in to pay their respects. All are welcome.

Zack passed away in Toronto from the injuries sustained in a vicious and senseless attack carried out by 3 individuals. Police believe that Zack had been targeted as he was leaving an establishment near Yonge and Lola Road, but so far limited amounts of information have been released. Zack volunteered his time and talents to HipHopCanada for several years and his contributions were always top notch. His contributions to the site and scene will be remembered for a long time to come.

Zack’s friend Peter describes the young talent best on the GoFundMe campaign page: “Zack was a talented journalist, a dedicated and visionary entrepreneur, a steward in his community, and a friend who was loved by all. He poured all of himself into his work, and was always looking for ways to better himself and others around him for the good of the craft. A tragedy like this is nearly inconceivable, for a man who had so much ahead of him, so much left to give.
