Scrub & Ace Ha get funky and fresh in “Anita Ride” video

St. Louis, MO – Taking a moment to look farther south than we usually do, duo Scrub & Ace Ha just released a new music video titled “Anita Ride” which is bound to put a little kick in your step. Even though they didn’t originate with Canadian roots, this video deserved an exception. Scrub currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri, while his colleague and mastermind behind the beats, Ace Ha, is respectively from the Los Angeles area. Their southern routes can be witnessed in the background and landscapes that are shot throughout the video.

I had a chance to talk to Ace Ha about the inspiration behind the track. He described, “As far as how the song Anita Ride was conceived, we are both old school, boom bap heads with a seriously blue collar aesthetic. The song is more or less a reaction to hip hop’s continued predilection toward songs about money, cars, hoes, etc.”

“Anita Ride” is that modern rap track that does similar things to the likes of Macklemore – that fur coat looks vaguely reminiscent too. The track makes you feel good, it has a super catchy hook, and the visuals for the project are cinematic in appropriate respects. If you’re looking for a jam to put you in a good mood, this track will turn your day around. If you’re one of our international readers, keep an eye out for the video as it’s set to be in rotation at all Foot Locker stores worldwide.
