Sean Leon holds his own during intimate show in Vancouver
Vancouver, BC – From legends like Erykah Badu and Quest Love to big name Canadian artists like Tory Lanez and Majid Jordan, Vancouver’s Alexander Gastown has been host to some of the best in the game. With their intimate space and low-key house party feel, artists are quickly drawn to the heritage venue for cozy headlining slots and after-party vibes. It was no surprise that future classic Sean Leon was booked for a Saturday night set with his DJ Jordan Fall and support from Vancity-based, Toronto transplant ninetyfour with Stevie Ross. The space was a perfect fit for his rare and potent sound and the openers were a well-suited compliment.
Sean Leon, also known as Maui Slim, has made a name for himself in Toronto as the founder of IXXI Initiative. Vancouver periodically gets a chance to see young Canadians on the cusp of their come up, and knowing that his upcoming album was set to drop soon, this show was the perfect time to catch Leon in his element.
A brief but impressive set caught the attention of the entire room as Leon energetically bounced around the stage hitting the crowd with recent bangers like “XXXCITED”. For those who weren’t previously knowing about this rising talent, they were quickly turned into fans and new followers.
