Twice as much Tory; Vancouver gets a double dose of Tory Lanez
Vancouver, BC – Riding the hype from his latest release I Told You, Tory Lanez returned to his loyal fans in Vancouver for back-to-back shows last week at the Vogue Theatre and the Commodore Ballroom presented by Timbre Concerts. Facing almost four-times as many ticket holders as his previous shows in Vancouver, both shows were met with the same energy and charisma we’re used to, but with a few more heavy bangers under his belt and a lot more chains around his neck. Lanez played the Alexander Gastown in late 2015 and almost exactly a year later is where he hosted his after-party following his two sold-out shows. A huge testament to how far the New Toronto singer has come.
Opening acts Jacquees and Kranium held it down for the largely packed venues warming them up nicely for the main event. As predicted, Tory Lanez shot on stage like a burst of flames with lights erratically following his every move. Dropping popular I Told You cuts like “Luv” and “Say It” the crowd hang on to every single word but it wasn’t until he made his way to face the audience that they really started to wake up. He hinted on some new material before leaking an upcoming single “Dope Man Go”; Vancouver was feeling pretty special to be able to catch the track first hand before it’s release.
As the intro to “Litty” burst through the speakers, Lanez famously hit the crowd, attempting to surf his way through the masses. At no fault of his own, the crowd’s weak attempt had him finishing the track from the stage proving that larger Vancouver venues may not be as lit as the more intimate venues he’s seen in his come up years. Either way, the captured photos from the crowd are a nice addition to the gallery so we’re glad the audience could keep him up while they did. Check the gallery from both shows below.
