Live Fast, Die Young: Toronto’s G Milla hits the mark with LFDY EP
Toronto, ON – If there were ever six songs that perfectly epitomized the life of the modern day Toronto antihero in one body of work it would sound a lot like G Milla’s recent EP, LFDY (Live Fast Die Young). From the opening anthem “Angels,” to the Teddy Fantum-assisted “On Me,” or the drug induced “Doomsday,” LFDY is a dark, concise project which seems like theme music to G’s underground Toronto takeover.
Sonically, the project is very diverse, complete with head knocking 808’s, old school Jimi Hendrix samples and everything in between. “Angels,” the opening track, hits the listener with an airy, melodic vibe which literally encompasses your headphones and takes you to a new world. G then takes us on a ride through some harder hitting cuts like “Cold” and “Bills” before ending off with the title track and obvious standout LFDY. Majority of the production on the project was handled by Saintfall who also was credited as the executive producer.
It is clear that G Milla has found his perfect formula. With Saintfall behind him and frequent collaborator Teddy Fantum ready to blow as well, it is clear that G Milla is going to be living fast for quite some time.
