Melvy Pockets walks us through a day-in-the-life on “Red Lingerie” off The Golden Child EP
Brampton, ON – In February Brampton artist Melvy Pockets released his highly anticipated debut EP entitled The Golden Child.
The EP features a slew of monstrous production laid underneath Pockets’ flow, including one of the mixtape’s lead singles titled “Red Lingerie”.
Produced by Mykal Riley, “Red Lingerie” is a much different look for Pockets. It’s a storytelling track with a sexually driven happy ending. Pockets walks us through a day in his life; as he wakes up, goes to school, and eventually ends up getting it on with his female who’s wearing the “Red Lingerie.”
Here’s what Pockets had to say about this track: “The transition between winter to spring inspired me to write this song. This song brings music to life. Sun beaming, flowers blossoming; as if love was in the air… I decided to write about my day from waking up, going to school and writing an exam to sexual intercourse outside in broad day light. This song means the most to me because I feel like I was able to pin-point a day in my life accurately with the help of a lot of imagery. When I close my eyes and try to picture what is being said in this song, I can see it in accurate synchronization.”
