From Russia With Love: Staalin pays tribute to victims of domestic violence with “Phoenix”

Toronto, ON – In Greek mythology, a phoenix is a bird that obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. It represents renewal, rebirth, resurrection, the sun and various other things, depending on the context.

It’s also the fitting title of Toronto rapper Staalin’s third single off his forthcoming album, F.R.W.L. 2 (From Russia With Love 2), and an ode to victims of domestic violence.

Written to not only help raise awareness for the growing number of women victimized by domestic violence, but also to empower those who have or may continue to suffer the physical, emotional and mental traumas that result from it.

Check out “Phoenix,” produced by Tower Beatz, below. F.R.W.L. 2 is set to drop this summer.
