Manifesto 11 to feature Majid Jordan, The Internet, Sean Leon, Derin Falana & more

Toronto, ON – We really need to give it up to Che Kothari and the Manifesto team. The annual festival has become one of the most celebrated hip-hop events in world and this year’s line-up is a great example of why that’s the case.

OVO Sound crooners Majid Jordan are holding down the headline spot for Manifesto 11 but other acts on the bill are giving fans more than enough reason to make their way to Toronto’s Echo Beach this June.

The Internet – an Odd Future offshoot consisting of Syd, Matt Martians, Patrick Paige II, Christopher Smith, and Steve Lacy – will be performing Saturday, June 10 along with Isaiah Rashad, Jidenna, Sean Leon, Derin Falana, Tika, The Sorority and even more. The Manifesto team will be announcing more artists in the near future so stay tuned for the update. You can find the official poster after the jump via Manifesto’s official Instagram profile. You can find the official press release below with more information.

Manifesto Festival Evolves As It Enters Second Decade

The Manifesto Festival of Community & Culture announced the first details of its annual programming for Manifesto 11, including a major shift to its programming model as the next step in its evolution as one of Canada’s biggest celebrations of contemporary youth arts & culture.

For the first time ever, Manifesto is expanding the multi-disciplinary programming that traditionally makes up its September festival across the summer, fall and winter seasons to sustain a year-round presence as a locally-minded platform for music, art, dance, conversation and connection. Manifesto is kicking things off June 8-11 with its marquee music festival, followed by stand-alone events for other artistic pillars throughout 2017, all of which are complemented by artist talks, parties and other exciting features to round things out.

The Manifesto 11 program includes:

Manifesto Festival
Manifesto 11 House Party, June 8th at The Drake Hotel
Live at Echo Beach, June 10th at Echo Beach
High Power, June 10th at Keele St. Warehouse
More Festival events TBA
Other annual programming
The Free Block Party, Summer 2017
The Summit, Late Summer 2017
The Art Show, Fall 2017
The Rumble, Winter 2017 (Dance showcase)

With more to be announced.

Following up on last year’s smash show featuring Grammy-award nominated Anderson .Paak, Juno/Polaris winner Kaytranada and Juno-nominated Daniel Caesar – Manifesto is returning to Echo Beach for its marquee event on June 10. Co-presented with Rap Season, Live At Echo Beach will be headlined by Toronto’s own OVO Sound artists Majid Jordan, Grammy-nominated California soul collective The Internet, Manifesto alumni and TDE artist Isaiah Rashad, and classic man Jidenna. As a key part of Manifesto’s mandate, rising local stars will anchor the presentation with a bigger lineup of local acts this year, featuring performances from Sean Leon, TiKA, The Sorority, Derin Falana, and more to be announced.

In order to make this, and every Manifesto 11 event, as inclusive as possible a limited number of free tickets will also be made available through community organizations like The Remix Project, TAAGS, BIZSTART, FYOU Project, R.I.S.E. Edutainment and others. To inquire about accessing limited free or discounted tickets for community organizations please contact info@mnfsto.com.

The Live at Echo Beach after party on June 10th will be a special edition of Manifesto’s monthly party HIGH POWER, featuring special guest and NYC icon Vashtie alongside resident Dre Ngozi and Nino Brown of Yes Yes Y’all – spinning hip hop, dancehall, soca, reggae, afrobeats, global house and more goodness. Bring a towel.

Stay tuned for details on Manifesto’s upcoming Free Block Party, Art Show and other Manifesto 11 events in the coming weeks. For details and info on Manifesto 11’s June and future events visit mnfsto.com.
