Burd & Keyz and Jordon Manswell team up to produce “Closer” off Ye Ali’s Passion & Patience

Toronto, ON – He’s from the middle of Indiana and now based in LA, but many of us consider Ye Ali to be an honorary Canadian. He’s always out in Toronto and always seems to be cooking up new music with our guys here up North.

At the beginning of the month the singer-songwriter debuted his first full-length project of the year, the Passion & Patience EP, after debuting the tracks “Talk Less” and “Big Body Benz”. The seven-track project is the smooth, after-hours breed of music we’ve come to expect from Ye Ali, with a lots of summer sounds and really hot downtempo bedroom joints.

One of the stand-out cuts off the project is the Burd & Keyz and Jordon Manswell produced “Closer”, which appears as the third track on the EP. Burd & Keyz and Jordon Manswell are from the Toronto area, and have each become standards in a lot of the music coming out of Canada right now.

Their collaboration together on “Closer” is co-production at its finest. The beat is a little more uptempo than we’ve come to expect for Ye Ali, and has a lot more of that dancehall flavour to it.

This is actually one of the best collaborations that happened in summer 2017. Check it out and listen to the Passion & Patience EP in its entirety over here (Jordon also helped produce “Talk Less” which you should scope if you haven’t scoped yet).
