Gilla finally released a “Hallucinations” remix video & it was inspired by Beanie Sigel

Toronto, ON – Yesterday Reps Up rapper and OVO affiliate Gilla finally released the video for his April 2017 released remix of “Hallucinations” by dvsn.

dvsn vocalist Daniel Daley and Gilla were at the club together and Daley suggested that Gilla give the track his own blessing. So by the next morning, Gilla had already gone to the studio and completed his take. The original dvsn track is a nod to Daley’s hallucinations about a girl he can’t get over. You try to stay cautious but then you just end up delusional.

The video was inspired by the classic Beanie Sigel visual for “Fee It In The Air”, and details a very similar commentary on paranoia. And of course the video comes accompanied by the disclaimer: “ANY PROPS USED IN THIS VIDEO THAT SHOW RESEMBLANCE TO ANY ILLEGAL MATERIALS ARE PROPS AND SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME”. Because at this point we know law enforcement loves to use rap videos to target arrests. And at this point we also know Gilla is hella paranoid.
