Break Out: Derin Falana enlists the help of Jahmal Gittens for his new summer single

Brampton, ON – Yesterday Brampton artist Derin Falana released his latest single titled “Break Out.”

Produced by Jahmal Gittens, “Break Out” is a downtempo, breezy summer anthem about breaking out and losing your inhibitions. Derin is already at that point and has long since stopped caring what people think about him. So instead of focusing inwards, he sends a message of encouragement for anyone still trying to break out of their own shell: “I need you to come around and take a swing when you’re up to bat/ It’s that potential/ Do you f**k with that?/ The vibe will not lie/ You should trust the facts.”

At this point we know Derin can sing, rap, switch his flows up, and deliver a huge range of feels. He’s spent most of 2017 diversifying his sound and honing in on the technical and stylistic elements of his artistry. This particular track is on the singing side of the spectrum, and showcases a softer melodic style of rapping. It’s subtle, but it’s also a reminder that hustle doesn’t get a summer vacation – you need to stay improving and focused on breaking out.
