No Mans Land is coming: Watch the trailer for DillanPonders’ highly anticipated new project

Toronto, ON – Earlier this week Toronto-based SmashMouth Music Group artist DillanPonders revealed the trailer for his highly anticipated new project No Mans Land, which is due out on August 30.

Directed by Rajeevan Nithiyananathan with videography by Brett Pedersen and editing courtesy of Rob Switch, this four-minute-long trailer provides a very intimate look into the process behind No Mans Land.

Cut with clips of tracks off the project, the trailer offers exclusive Ponders commentary on the state of Toronto’s rap scene, his artistic progression, losing friends along the way, and more.

Over the years we’ve seen Dillan evolve from being Toronto’s favourite neighbourhood druggy, to becoming a full-fledged flower child, to reaching where he’s at now. If you still associate Ponders with coke raps, you’ve missed a huge progression. His sound transformed into this balls-to-the-walls real talk about personal growth, tackling the industry, dealing with haters, getting through the day-to-day, and staying humble through it all: “When you grow as an artist, or as a person, or as a successor in life, one commonality that every story has is that you lose friends, or the two-faced people, or the so-called acquaintances…”

Stylistically, Dillan has also changed up his sound quite a bit. He’s gone from being one of Toronto’s most predominant autotune rappers, to being a critic of autotune raps. His main focus lately has been the bars. He’s taken it back to basics, and that’s why it’s going to be so exciting to see how No Mans Land delivers.
