Christabel Shaler

Christabel Shaler is a writer for HipHopCanada’s West Coast Editorial Team, Get Grounded TV and The Vancouver Observer. Christabel grew up in Vancouver and began listening to political hippy rap when she was eight and grittier stuff when she was twelve. She didn’t like high school because she claimed that the textbooks contained propaganda. During her undergraduate degree, her research proved that she was right. Christabel is currently in the process of becoming a high school English teacher. She works with Leave Out Violence (L.O.V.E.) and sits on the Family and Youth Justice Advisory Committee for Vancouver City Council.
