Throughout his early schooling, Alex Narvaez developed an interest in communications technology which eventually lead to his graduation from the Radio and Television Arts program at Ryerson University. As an avid hip-hop fan, he put his skills to use and created various outlets to support local music and artists within the genre. Alex helped create one of the first Latin hip-hop radio programs in the city “La Kalle”. He is also recognized as the founder and host of Off Da Tracks Radio. Since 2006 he has been, and continues to be, an active on-air personality and producer for radio and various mediums throughout the broadcast field. Alex currently works alongside George Stroumboulopoulos at the CBC and provides Canadian urban content for The Strombo Show. In collaboration with HipHopCanada, Alex is the host of a new web series titled MUSIC 101.
