this is an incredible instrument

I think both the banjo and fiddle have the most apathetic sound when being played

no wait, not apathetic....whats a word that describes a feeling of like lets say something really bad happened, but theres nothing
you can do about it, so you just go on....

like people who live in poverty and shit....like you have a dude playing he fiddle on the corner...and a slow banjo rhythm

whats a fuckin word for that feeling

no roof jokes please haha

heres one good example of both being used....I remember it was used in this movie and also
'There will be Blood' I think. I can't find all of the songs though. Theres also a banjo/fiddle song in the movie merry xmas mr lawrence, but I cant find that one....its a good one too

I know you guys probably dont give a fuck, but it sounds nice

I wish I knew how to play this thing better, I'd probably keep it instead of reselling it

I'm gonna check youtube to see if theres any fiddle lessons

hahahahaha fuck

we're all fucked up

I went to go check out the dude who did the track

and I read a mini bio of his

check out what it says:

Peter Whitehead
is an instrument builder, performer, songwriter, composer and writer. His instruments are often based on folk instruments from around the world, and feature unusual or found materials in place of traditional ones, (e.g. Panjo: a banjo made from a metal pan)

He performs his own solo work using these instruments and is a member of Closer To Carbon, a trio featuring bass, cellos, spike fiddles, sampler, percussion, toys and an array of conventional, invented & found instruments.

lmfao

tmyk

I dunno man, I always thought frets were just there to make it easier to read music or learn how to play guitar

I buy and sell instruments for a hobby

frets are to shorten the vibrating portion of the string to an exact point with ease.

for example, if you hold a string against the board between the 2nd and 3rd frets, the string vibrates from the 3rd fret to the bridge.

without the fret, you would have to have your finger on the EXACT right spot, which is difficult for single notes and near impossible for chords.

they vibrate, making a sound.

the shorter the length of the vibrating section, or the smaller the caliber of the string, or the tighter the string.... the higher the pitch

longer vibrating section, larger caliber, looser string..... lower pitch

DUHHHHHHH
