I fully cosign this statement. I don't rate it as such due to lyrical ability or beat but the message and role of this song.

one of the people helping to make the list was Questlove...

While Rolling Stones does not focus on hip hop or rap they are experts on music and its impact on pop culture...

"The Message" def gets my vote- the social commentary changed the rap game! It was the first report of hiphop as the Black man [oppressed human]'s CNN!
