The submission deadline for the 2020 JUNO Awards is getting close. If you haven’t already submitted, you’ll have until tomorrow (Friday, Nov. 8) at 11:59 p.m. to get it done.
The submission process is quite straight forward and can be completed on the JUNOSubmissions.ca website. Please be sure to review the guidelines closely so all the key aspects of your submission are included.
It should be noted that a handful of the categories (i.e. Songwriter, Francophone, Contemporary Christian/Gospel) have additional requirements that need to be met.
In terms of the Rap Recording of the Year category: “Product must predominantly fall in the genre of rap music. Predominance means 50% or more of the recording. Lyrics must be delivered in an MC style and music/beats must reflect the sound of traditional and/or current rap.”
The 49th annual JUNO Awards will broadcast live on CBC from the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon on Sunday, March 15, 2020.
Tune in on CBC, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, the free CBC Gem streaming service in Canada, or watch globally at cbcmusic.ca/junos.
The JUNO Awards is presented annually by CARAS (The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences).
CARAS was formed in 1975 as an umbrella not-for-profit organization for The JUNO Awards – Canada’s Music Awards, MusiCounts, Canada’s music education charity associated with CARAS and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
CARAS’ mandate is to promote and celebrate Canadian music and artists. The JUNO Awards is Canada’s premier awards show, which encompass a week-long celebration of Canadian music, culminating in The JUNO Awards Broadcast where Canadian artists are recognized for excellence of achievement in music.
