Seizing an opportunity could best describe rapper Baby Sosa and his introduction into the rap/hip-hop genre.
One day while listening to friends, also in the business, he picked up the mic and started rapping. When others heard him and the response was favorable he knew it would be a lifelong passion. This passion, which expands 25 years, is reignited with his upcoming project, Million Dollar Dreams and Federal Nightmares.
His works include “It’s a Dirty Game,” “Ballhawg,” and “Chaos in the Capital City.” His newest project will contain material with a more serious and dark tone in the lyrics. Rutledge attributes this partly to a two year incarceration.
“Being there gave me a whole new way of thinking and my lyrics have a more dark and serious feel,” he says. He hopes fans will get a feel of where he’s been and the importance of not giving up.
“I want them to learn from my mistakes and to reach for their dreams,” he says.
Baby Sosa has performed at various big name venues including The House of Blues in Orlando and the Apollo.
