Brevner is no stranger to making bold and precisely executed moves with his art, from sound to visuals to his overall aesthetic he has a keen sense for conveying quality. His highly anticipated Brevner EP dropped late this week to much attention and is arguably his best body of work to date.
Although he enlist features from some serious heavy-hitters like Project Pat, Rome Fortune, King Louie, Ant-Live, RiFF RAFF and frequent collaborators Stevie Ross, Within Roots and Fembot, Brevner fails to be overshadowed once, showing strength and skill in his growth as an artist.
With it’s gritty, honest lyricism, dark undertones and Brevner’s un-fuck-with-able attitude the eight-track EP is a welcome contrast to his past emotionally lead projects including his prior release Eclectricity.
All eyes are on Brevner this year for better or worse. His willingness to stand up for what he believes in while producing dope art has Brev setting a strong example for Vancouver’s music scene and has already had him shaking up the game for 2016.
