Toronto rapper Bishop Brigante has revealed he’ll be featured on a new single by Vancouver legends Checkmate and DJ Kemo.
Both Bishop and Checkmate posted the artwork for “Hustler & The Gambling Man,” which makes reference to their respective nicknames (Checkmate the Hustler and Bishop Brigante aka The Gambling Man). The Gambling Man nickname is probably best associated with Bishop taking Drake’s watch in a game of dice several years ago. A video clip of the exchange, which also features Fito Blanko, Young Tony (aka OVO Hush), Sensei, Ken Masters and Boi-1da, can be found on Bishop’s YouTube channel where it recently passed 100K views.
Bishop’s Instagram post hinted at “Hustler & The Gambling Man” dropping in the near future:
“It’s that time again.. new @checkmatethehustler & @djkemo featuring yours truly.. 🗣🗣 ‘it’s funny, money’s the reason you dummies talk poor…’ coming very soon. #TheEnds🔚”
And a comment on the post from the song’s producer, DJ Kemo, revealed a music video was also in the works:
“👉🏼💥💥 Guess I should start editing the video eh??”
Checkmate and DJ Kemo recently teamed up for “No Pressure” (featuring Tiago Vasquez), while Bishop was featured on Tona’s latest project, July 26th, on the single “Money.”
Stay tuned for “Hustler & The Gambling Man” (expected Oct. 30) and check out the artwork below. The artwork, designed by Cura Designs, captures the moment the character Moe Greene was murdered in the 1972 classic The Godfather.
Last but not least, be sure to visit Bishop’s clothing line, The Ends for some amazing new looks.
