CJ Flemings has remained highly slept-on and severely underrated, but things are about to change on a large scale for the Montreal rapper. Following his personal and reflective video documentary release with CBC, and three breakout features on “Blood on the Leaves” and TNGHT producer Lunice’s new album, CCCLX, CJ Flemings has begun to unleash his own wave of new material. As Flemings preps for what we predict is a debut album, he’s released two singles in these recent weeks that give us a taste of the introspective bars that are delivered our way.
“In My System” and “Drive Me Crazy” (which dropped just hours ago) display the rapper’s versatility as he ducks and weaves his bars over both beats with a seasoned ease. One thing that you’ll notice about CJ is his ability to create hooks that are unassumingly effective at bringing the listener’s attention back around after each set. We’re looking forward to seeing what 2018 has in store for the emcee, as past releases have included production from industry heavyweights like Bizness Boi.
