Danny Delavie’s emotional single off his High Tide EP, “Break Interlude” expresses Danny’s conflicting combination of self doubt and glimmers of hope, as he battles to balance the struggles of life, and trying to hold his mental stability together.
Produced by Australian based instrumentalist, KRAZNOV, along with co-production by Patt Kelly and Delavie himself, “Break Interlude” brings an array of textures and emotions to the record that are further complimented by Danny’s raw energy and execution.
In the stop motion animation for “Break Interlude,” Danny is trapped in a nightmare as he struggles to ‘break’ barriers and move forward, constantly getting tangled up at the hands of his own perception.
“The idea for the video came from me once experiencing a pretty intense sleep paralysis. At the time, I was pretty stressed out in life, & I felt stuck. I definitely felt like I was holding myself back mentally. I knew it was a battle against me and my own mind and that I had to overcome myself and work hard to be where I want to be.”
With animation by abstract stop motion artist Piripinghi, the raw visuals matched with the unique concept make for an interesting representation of Delavie’s interlude. Check it out below.
