For the past few years – dating back to May 24, 2011, specifically – Snoop Dogg has been building a steady following for his Double G News Network (GGN), starring himself as host Nemo Hoes. A new episode of the GGN show has been released every Tuesday. With each episode that drops, Snoop seems to quadruple his viewership and the buzz for the web series continues to grow.
Most recently, spawning from the July 22 episode featuring Jimmy Kimmel, Snoop has made headlines by claiming to have smoked weed in the White House. “In the bathroom. Not in the White House, but in the bathroom,” Snoop told Kimmel.
But what we’d like to highlight is the fact that a Canadian MC has received some exposure through the episode which has accumulated over 200K views in one day. During the infamous GGN Weather Girl segment, Snoop shows love to the Vokab-produced “Clarity 2” by budding Ottawa recording artist Dillin Hoox.
The YouTube comments are full of people eager to find out what the song is called and who it’s by. We originally posted Hoox’s “Clarity 2” video back in April. Look for the segment around the 8 minute mark of the video after the jump.
The inclusion in GGN’s soundtrack comes hot on the heels of “Clarity 2” being featured, and topping the charts on Snoop’s Underground Heat series. Not long after that, Snoop made reference to it on both his Facebook and Twitter profiles. Certainly great promotion for the young Kurdish-Canadian hailing from Ottawa.
