Vancouver-based Ekke releases the “Broke.Dream.Fix” single

Vancouver-based Ekke releases the Broke.Dream.Fix single

Our weekly segment Submission Sundays features the new Sound of Kalima-produced single “Broke.Dream.Fix” by Vancouver-based Ghanaians recording artist, Ekke.

“Ekke makes use of clever word play, exploration of dark & exaggerated themes, hyperbole and complex rhyme schemes to paint pictures and tell stories.”

Born in Accra, Ghana, Ekke moved with his family to New Jersey, where he lived from ages 4-7. Returning to Ghana by age 8, he grew up changing schools and moving houses all around Accra. He came to Canada in 2010 to attend the University of British Columbia, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce from the UBC Sauder School of Business in 2015.

“Initially rapping under the moniker Palendroam, Ekke honed his craft writing original lyrics over popular beats before transitioning into production and creation of entirely original material.”

SUBMISSION SUNDAYS INFO

Submission Sundays is a segment we introduced in 2018 to show love to the hundreds of artists and groups that submit new material to us weekly. The segment also gives us a chance to show love to people who aren’t already receiving regular coverage on HipHopCanada, and gives them a chance to connect with our viewers.

Each week, we’ll select 8 new submissions and feature them on our homepage for at least a 24 hour period.

To be considered for our weekly Submission Sundays segment, please submit your content using our Submission Form. International submissions are welcome.

Please note, due to the volume of submissions we receive, we are unable to respond to each submission directly. Submissions with missing information will be deleted.
